Artist Biography:
Eyes are a recurring motif in the work of American artist Stanley Clark. His vivid, personal Oil paintings and pastel and charcoal drawings suggest plethora of artistic influences, including Picasso, and represent the artist's belief in the power of sight and the visual. Clark won a Scholarship to Layton Conservatory of Art in Milwaukee while still at high school and was awarded subsequent scholarships every year between 1970 and 1975. Clark held his first exhibition in 1976.His passion for art has lead him to experiment widely with different media including clay and wood sculpture, Watercolours,Pastels and Charcoal. As well as an artist, Clark is an accomplished jazz musician and trained as a chef at New Orleans school of Culinary Arts, where he employed his artistic talent by specialized in free-hand ice carving and wedding cake design.
