This piece is one of a collection … Read more Featured here is an original oil painting by Detroit area artist Nancy Patek. This piece is one of a collection of original artworks depicting Detroit before its recent renaissance. Nancy and a small band of artists and designers cruised the streets of Detroit in the 1980s and 90s photo documenting the ruins of once great homes and neighborhoods. Once back into the studio with images and experiences from the excursions to these untraveled areas of Detroit she created this series. Paintings in this series feature apparition of a human image.

This painting measures approximately 49" x 44 1/2" and features a rich and chromatic color palette. This painting is a sophisticated deep rich artist view of a once great city, that at the time, appeared to have no hope for improvement. This painting was inspired by a trip to the Brush Park area of Detroit.

Nancy has a fairly large resume and this painting will come with a copy. Nancy participated in over 40 solo, Invitational, and Curated shows. Now in her late 80s Nancy is retired . See less
