Artist Biography: Melanie Millar isa painter living and working in Houston, Texas. She has exhibited her work in one-person shows, group-shows and juried competitions nationally. Her work is in private and corporate collections, as well as in the collection of the Museum of Fine Art, Houston. She grew up in New Jersey but later moved to Houston, Texas. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Texas. In 1999, she completed an MFA in painting and drawing at the University of North Texas, Denton Texas. She got back in the studio in August 2009 after a complete and total work-fast of ten years duration. She is indebted to Kerry Inman of Inman Gallery in Houston who first showed her works.
