1950s, … Read more Matthew Adams Alaska Pottery – A Juneau trading post
located in Alaska created a booming tourist trade in the
1950s, which prompted them to contact noted designer
Sacha Brastoff to create a line of decorative ceramics
featuring traditional Alaskan scenes including Eskimos
and native animals such as polar bears, walruses and
caribous. Matthew Adams was selected as the designer
and the Alaska line was created.

A classic Mid Century design created for Brastoff and hand painted by
Matthew Adams, a well known Alaskan artistan. The painting is of a
white sled dog, possibly a Samoyed.
This piece can be used as an ashtray or a unique cone incense burner
and the chimney allows smoke to curl up from the inside.
It is marked as shown and measures approx. 5" tall. See less
