Striking abstract print by Rikio Takahashi, one of Japan’s most respected modern printmakers and a key figure in the sōsaku-hanga movement. His lyrical compositions are held in the collections of MoMA, the British Museum, and LACMA.
This piece, Lyric Kyoto No. 2, is hand-signed and titled by the artist. Edition 1/30, the very first in the series. Likely produced in the 1970s or early 80s, using color woodblock techniques. Framed in a vintage woven grasscloth frame that adds rich texture and warmth to the presentation.
