Hand-built stoneware, likely West Coast studio work from roughly the 1970s to early 1990s. Iron-washed, heavily grogged clay left unglazed, a hallmarks of the California Clay Movement’s raw, feminist-leaning figurative style. Arms clasped behind the back and intentionally truncated legs create a quiet study in resilience. Stable with minor edge nicks; felt pads on the base.
