Soakage Site at Tjiturrilpa is the dreamtime story of the artist and a landmark site of her ancestral country. The artist was celebrated for her intricate dot composition that showcase a subtle but mesmerizing movement as well as the contrasting colors.
Artist's biography: Eileen Napaltjarri was a female Indigenous Artist from the community of Haasts Bluff in the Northern Territory. Born in 1956 to two well-established Indigenous Artists, Charlie Tararu Tjunurrayi, one of the founding members of Papanya Tula and Tatali Nangala was also a successful Papanya Tula artist. Eileen began painting for Papunya Tula in about 1999 and was named in the top 50 Most collectable Australian Artists in 2008.
Eileen's artworks are symbolic and abstract interpretation of her country. She predominately paints an important place called 'Soakage Site at Tjiturrulpa'.
