Traveling Man Treasures curiosity Vault is selling this beautiful PAIR of vintage (c. 1940s-1950s) silver alloy Nepalese standing Maitreya Statue. The pieces are in excellent condition with a rich patina.
Maitreya Buddha is a bodhisattva, or enlightened being, regarded as the future Buddha in many Mahayana Buddhist traditions. According to Buddhist belief, Maitreya will appear on earth to end suffering and spread Buddhist teachings. Maitreya is depicted standing on a lotus base with a serene expression with a Dharmachakra mudra, symbolizing his compassion and wisdom. Maitreya is considered a beloved and revered figure in the Buddhist tradition, inspiring devotion and respect among practitioners.
