Ian Shults’ "Submission Guidelines" is a striking example of his signature style—merging vintage cinematic drama with contemporary pop abstraction. This large-scale figurative painting (48 x 60 inches / 122 x 152 cm) is rendered in oil and acrylic on canvas with masterful control of contrast and texture. Shults works with dynamic brushstrokes and geometric fragmentation, creating a surface alive with movement and tension. The grayscale imagery of a glamorous woman and reclining man, both caught in a moment of intimate confrontation, evokes 1950s film noir. Behind them, a toppled classical sculpture and shattered black shards introduce elements of chaos and rupture. Visually divided by bold white and black gestural lines, the painting becomes a stage where desire, power, and cultural mythology clash. Pops of vibrant orange pull the composition into the present, giving the work a bold, graphic edge. This piece is ideal for collectors of contemporary figurative art, Neo-Pop, and those drawn to the dialogue between classical form and postmodern disruption. An arresting statement piece for modern interiors or curated institutional settings. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
