It is a marvelous example of high-quality Danish mid-century modern carpentry, combining elegance with functionality. Nexo bookcases were produced in several variations. Probably the most well-known are the models with a pull-out desk, but there are also regular bookcases and versions with a closed bottom, such as the one above.
Nexo bookcases were crafted from carefully selected, high-quality teak wood, as well as teak plywood and veneer. They all feature slightly rounded edges and a sculpturally carved base, which adds lightness to the construction. These details provide a decorative touch while keeping the overall design very minimalistic.
This bookcase has been fully restored. The wood was sanded down and refinished with layers of Danish oil to enhance the beauty of the grain. Despite the passage of time, it remains in excellent condition, with only minimal signs of use consistent with its age.
