Coq Nain' paperweight, signed Lalique crystal. Model no. 1135.
Originally made as car mascots, these were mostly designed and created by Renè Lalique in the mid to late 1920s before fading from high fashion in the early 1930s. They remained on sale as mascots until 1937.
After Renè Lalique's death in 1945, the few remaining pieces were made in crystal and mostly sold as paperweights.
This model features a rooster, a symbol of dawn and rebirth in France, as well as protection against evil spirits.
Made of frosted and satin crystal. In very good vintage condition, no chips or repairs.
Signed 'Lalique, France' on the base with a diamond point engraving.
A beautiful and rare collector's piece!!! This piece has an attribution mark,
I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity
