Napoleon III (Second Empire) style canapé (three-seater sofa), with the classic deep profile often serving as a daybed. This piece is a luxurious representation of the era's taste for opulence and historical revival.
The frame is crafted from walnut wood finished in a rich, dark patina. It features a beautifully curvilinear silhouettecharacterized by the signature "humped" or undulating shape of the carved top rail, a hallmark of the Louis XV Revival influence popular during the Napoleon III period.
The frame is sparsely but elegantly carved with scrolled and molded edges running along the base and the serpentine shape of the back. It is supported by graceful cabriole legs.
