Rare lacquered table, signed by Sandro Mendini with elaborate vintage car illustration on inlay. A wacky piece of Italian postwar 'pop art', Mendini's vintage Ford motor-car has the slogan 'Equal Rights' embossed on its door, as well as various antiquated brake and gear levers. A truly eccentric and surreal piece, a grand columned portico lines the wheel arches and their red spokes.
Constructed from parchment and Bakelite, the cocktail table stands on slender tapered ebonised legs which can be unscrewed from the top. Created and signed by Sandro Mendini, it was produced in Milan by Aldo Tura, circa 1955. This piece has an attribution mark,
