Vintage mid century modern high back dining chairs, made in Denmark c. 1970s with design attributed to Schiønning & Elgaard.
The top of the seatback features and elegant and ergonomic curve. Rectangular tapered legs and rounded edges throughout give the chairs a soft feel. With the bowtie-tapered stretcher bars in front and back, there’s not a sharp edge in sight.
We reupholstered the seats in Bon Vivant fabric from Pollack Texties, a tweed-chenille similar in color and style to the original oatmeal tweed upholstery. The frames were recently refinished by the prior owner and remain in excellent condition.
