This vintage Shelley teacup and saucer features Primrose chintz pattern on the elegant Ripon shape. Made in England in the 1940s, the cup holds approximately 5 ounces and measures 2-3/4" high by 3-1/4" rim diameter. The matching saucer is 5-5/8" in diameter.
The design includes a pale blue ground with scattered yellow flowers, scalloped and gilded rims, and gilding on the handle and foot. The interior is finished in a clean off-white glaze.
Condition: Good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is slight gilding rub on the handle and foot, consistent with gentle use and age.
Shelley teacups are highly collectible for their fine bone china quality, delicate designs, and unique shapes. The Ripon shape, with its graceful lines and gilded details, highlights the timeless beauty of Shelley china.
