Clay artist Fred Wiesener lives and works just across the Ohio River in historic Maysville, Kentucky. He has dedicated his entire adult life to designing and creating elegant forms in clay inspired by the clean lines and muted color palettes of the 1920s.
This stoneware vessel, with its removable head, stands at an impressive 28.5" tall and shows off Wiesener's clay artistry.
Wiesener has been producing one-of-a-kind ceramic clay sculptures since the mid-1960s. His works are internationally collected, and he continues exhibiting throughout the United States.
Wiesener's work has received numerous awards, including the Niche Award, given to outstanding craftspeople in their field, as well as "Best In Show" for his ceramic collection, "Ladies." This piece is from that collection.
