Testa 16 is one of the largest works within the Testas series, a sculptural project exploring the human head as a space of identity and collective resonance. This contemporary sculpture is crafted from black refractory clay, finished with a white smoked glaze that enhances its expressive textures, and mounted on a dynamic base of forged iron strips that expand the work into space. Measuring 80 x 52 x 52 cm and weighing 20 kg, the piece stands out for both its monumental presence and material intensity. The Testas series develops a direct and instinctive approach to the human head, seeking individuality through spontaneous modeling while acknowledging similarity when viewed collectively. Each head is unique, yet when seen together they reveal a striking resemblance, prompting reflection on the dual tension between individuality and collectivity—an indissoluble duality central to contemporary life. By combining ceramic surfaces imbued with the traces of smoke and fire with the raw structural energy of forged iron, Testa 16 embodies a poetic contrast between fragility and strength, the organic and the industrial. It is a powerful example of contemporary sculpture that bridges tradition and experimentation, offering both material richness and conceptual depth. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
