Antique English oak sideboard by E.Gomme circa 1930's. The cabinet has been fully restored to its original condition, revealing striking quarter sawn oak and rift sawn grain, dovetailed cabinet joinery, reeded edges and hand-carved foliage motifs. These features, along with the waterfall edge are prime examples of early 19th century Art Deco design. The two cabinet doors open to three interior shelves and drawers for storage. The solid oak cabinet rests upon turned oak legs with reeded faced feet.

However, there are still minor imperfections in the wood (such as several small dents, etc.) that are consistent with the age of the piece. The three drawers are refinished on the exterior, however, the interior of the drawers have been left in their original condition. One drawer contains a felt interior with several minor holes, otherwise in good condition. The other two drawer bottoms, although original, are in good condition. The back of the sideboard (not pictured) was not refinished to retain what is left of the original E.Gomme label. less
