The sculpture depicts the Nymphe de Bois and is a charming representation of the mythical woodland nymph of ancient legend, created by Louis Moreau, one of the extraordinary members of the Moreau family that dominated the world of sculpture in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries in Paris. The young woman is depicted in a joyful attitude as she is enveloped in plant and bird elements and rests on a base also with plant elements. The figure with drape around her hips in a sensual and contemplative pose,the body is supple slender and well modeled with anatomical care and naturalism in detail. Condition: Good Condition.
