There's more than a hint of Art Nouveau inspiration, as manifested in the organic leaf motif around the shade holder.

The entire fixture, including the chain (!!) is made of solid, hand-worked brass (much of it with an acid-patinated copper plating). I'd blithely assumed the parts above the shade fitter were made of wrought iron, but a magnet said otherwise, to my astonishment and delight. NEVER have I seen this kind of work before, clearly the work of a highly skilled and dedicated early 20th Century craftsman!

Another first: the quatrefoil design on the shade (original to the metal as I purchased it) is mirrored by the decorative element at the bottom of the chain.

All hand-made, top to bottom! Rivets on the canopy! (Yes, I'm a shamelessly appreciative metal guy)

A must-have for the impassioned Arts and Crafts aficianado!

Rewired and fitted with the age-appropriate standard-based keyless socket that came with the fixture. Use with any wattage you desire, as the heat easily escapes through the openings in the shade fitter.

Hanging around 26 inches as shown, the shade being around 7 in diameter. See less
