Love the interior … Read more Nice 18th century mahogany English Georgian slant front desk with nice interior with hidden compartments and drawers. Love the interior with 6 lower drawers under the cubbyholes and the valences over the cubbyholes are also drawers. These dont slide as easily as you may like so actually great for "hiding" those important things. Behind the central prospect door is a single shelf. Remove the shelf and lift the supports for the shelf, on either side, and you will find the other 2 hidden compartments. Drawers are all hand dovetailed and made with oak. The brass pulls are correct but not original. The feet have been restored. There are some surface scratches on the right side of the top as can be seen in the photos. Desk was refinished at some point years ago. I love the corners on the inset felt writing surface. The felt shows signs of use, its a little dirty. Desk is 39" wide and stands 42" tall and is 21" deep. The writing height is 31". See less
