A beautiful signed Mid-Century Modern art glass paperweight, featuring a frosted crystal orb with embedded gold fish and sea-inspired motifs. The handwritten tag notes:
“Mid 19th C. Relief Stonemade Paperweight. American or English. c.1850. An identical pattern is held in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum, accession no. 17.30.2.”
The design is titled “Gold in the Sea”, with gold fish and flowing seaweed forms suspended within a softly frosted glass sphere. This piece is both a functional paperweight and a sculptural decorative object, ideal for desks, shelves, or curated tabletop displays.
