Dressed in matching batik sarongs and comically serious expressions, the trio rides with an air of exaggerated formality, blending traditional wayang humor with a playful jab at ceremonial grandeur. The Punakawan--Semar, Petruk, Gareng, and Bagong--are central to Javanese shadow puppet theater and are often used to comment on social and political life with wit and wisdom. Hang it alongside woven baskets, batik cloths, or vintage travel posters for a collected, global feel. See less
