An elegant Neapolitan mirror from the second half of the 18th century, entirely carved, engraved, and gilded with gold leaf. The mirror appears as a triumph of carved wood with a movement that develops from the bottom to the top, where its full finesse can be appreciated. The cymatium is a succession of scrolls, rocailles, comb shells, and plant racemes. Two feet with a rocaille motif contribute to the elegance and refinement of this splendid object. The mirror is made of mercury glass and is contemporary with the wooden frame.
