This work stands out for … Read more An important and captivating Venetian mirror, crafted between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This work stands out for its monumental dimensions (height 160 cm, width 108 cm, maximum depth 12 cm) and its richly decorated blown and engraved glass, in the finest Murano tradition. The frame is composed of mirrored panels finely engraved with floral motifs, bordered by cord-cut edges and joined by worked glass rosettes. Hand-blown and shaped glass floral elements, with raised petals and leaves, are applied at the connecting points. The upper cornice features an elegant rib adorned with engraved plant motifs and a central mask, a typical Venetian decorative repertoire. The original silver plating is partially oxidized, with an antique patina that adds further character to the overall effect. See less
