The ceramic vase, catalogued as Model 1118 and often referred to as the “pineapple” vase, was produced in Belgium during the 1920s. with its repeating geometric relief and soft ivory craquelure glaze, the form epitomizes Catteau’s Art Deco vocabulary of bold geometry, stylized natural motifs, and technical innovation. Carefully transformed into a lamp, the piece preserves the authenticity of the original ceramic while gaining new life as functional lighting.

The lamp is paired with a bespoke gathered silk Ikat lampshade, hand-woven and hand-dyed according to traditional Central Asian methods that remain highly prized today. The green and ivory Ikat pattern creates a striking dialogue with the sculptural ivory ceramic base, uniting European Art Deco design with textile traditions of Central Asia.
