Depicting 2 very decorative the sculptures can be placed on the floor, on a table or cupboard.
The horses are not signed but making sculptures of this size requires craftsmanship.
On the inside, the traces of sculpting are clearly visible.
The creator was probably inspired by the Italian horse history which began with the Etruscans and Spartan colonists bringing horses to the peninsula, leading to the development of influential horsemanship. The Roman Empire integrated this knowledge, creating stronger mounts through crossbreeding. During the Renaissance, Italy, particularly Naples, became a center for equestrian arts, thanks to Gian Battista Pignatelli and his academy. The region also developed the renowned Neapolitan horse, a Baroque breed.
Condition: Minor imperfection on one ear of the horse, not disturbing
