Small enough for portability with a hinged lid, the trunk was designed to house essential tools for writing, painting and studying, but were often refined enough to sit upon a desk. This Asian scholar's trunk is from circa 1860 - 1870. It is a beautiful yet practical addition to a home's decor. See less
