this charming ashtray is a true piece of italian design history, attributed to the creative genius of dino martens (1894-1970), one of the most important murano glass designers of the 20th century. Although unsigned, its distinctive features clearly trace it back to the a.ve.m. (arte vetraria muranese) glassworks, with which martens collaborated extensively.

the design and technique are a perfect example of martens's celebrated "tutti frutti" or "oriente" style.
