A semi-abstract mid-century painting that presents a serene harbour scene with moored boats set against softly shifting reflections of water and sky, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1955.

The artist has abstracted the forms of vessels and docks into interlocking geometric planes, capturing the essence of the harbour through suggestion rather than detail.

Executed in a restrained yet harmonious palette, the work features muted ochres, warm browns, dusty blues, and gentle greens, punctuated by touches of rust-red along the hulls. The brushstrokes are broad and confident, laid down in flat, layered planes that create a rhythmic balance between solidity and fluidity.
