Streamlined, glamorous, and unmistakably 1930s Art Deco, this Manning-Bowman chrome coffee service captures the bold elegance of the Machine Age. With its stepped bases, skyscraper curves, and the dramatic contrast of chrome and black Bakelite handles, the set brings instant Deco sophistication to a bar cart, dining room display, or collector’s showcase.
Made in Meriden, Connecticut, by Manning-Bowman & Co., the service includes the electric coffee percolator with a glass finial, matching sugar bowl and creamer with black Bakelite finials, and the original chrome-framed tray with four bun feet. The percolator is decorated with chrome orb accents around the base, adding dimensionality and visual motion typical of 1930s Machine Age design. It is complete with its internal parts: stem, filter basket, and spreader lid, details rarely found intact today. Also present is a later Leviton replacement electric cord. The underside is stamped with the company’s “M Means Best” mark and U.S. patent numbers dating to the late 1920s, indicating circa 1930 production.

Percolator is 12.5”w x 11”d x 12”h.
Creamer with lift-up lid is 5.5”w x 4.75”d x 4.25”h.
Sugar bowl and lid are 5.5”w x 4”d x 4.25”h.
