Mōttega, the lamp company founded by Mark Moussa and well known for its fine quality lamps, released a soft pink option in 2011 that benefited the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation, with a portion of the sales going to the charity. These customized lamps, known for their bold colors and Faience construction, were made in a soft pink color as a special tribute to the organization and to help raise money for it by donating a portion of the sales from the special pink lamps.

Mōttega chose to make these pink lamps from Faience, a material ideally suited for delivering precise colors.

These beautiful and elegant lamps are in very good previously-owned condition with normal signs of age and use. There is crazing, which is not easily visible without the use of very bright light. We do know that decorative "crackle" crazing is intentionally done In some cases, particularly with art pottery to create a desired decorative effect. However, we do not know whether this is the case with these particular lamps. Nevertheless, unless one is intentionally very closely inspecting these lamps, the crazing is not really noticeable.

The lamps are very well made with high quality materials. They are marked "Mōttega" on their necks and sockets. They also have the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure logo on the back sides of the lamp bodies just above the cords. They have adjustable finials, which extend the height of the lamps up to approximately five additional inches.

Traditionally Mōttega bodies are made in Portugal and assembled in the United States. The Faience bodies are mounted on clear acrylic bases, and the finial balls are clear acrylic.
