This is a beautiful antique Persian Laver Kerman rug dating from the early 20th century, woven during the finest period of Kerman production. The rug exhibits the remarkable elegance, refinement, and artistic sophistication that have made Laver Kermans among the most highly regarded Persian carpets.
The field is covered with an allover boteh (paisley) design arranged in orderly rows across a rich midnight-blue ground. Each boteh is surrounded by delicate floral ornamentation and intricate vinery, creating an exceptionally detailed and harmonious composition. The drawing is refined and precise, demonstrating the high level of craftsmanship associated with the best Kerman workshops.
The wide border features large scrolling botehs and flowering vines on a warm ivory ground, beautifully framing the field and creating dramatic contrast. The combination of the dark blue field and luminous ivory border gives the rug tremendous visual elegance and decorative appeal.
The wool appears soft and lustrous, and the colors have mellowed beautifully with age. The fine weave allows for exceptional detail throughout the design, a hallmark of quality Laver Kerman rugs.
