This original oil painting of a primitive old man is by artist (Poland, b. 1956) Richard Klamann. Klamann a California self-taught artist came to America in the 1980’s to be a framer. It wasn’t long after that he took up painting. He was doing several repairs to various paintings and before he knew it he had the bug to paint. His work was exhibited at galleries such as Colin Fisher Studios in Cathedral City, CA and Hedge plus, House 849 in Palm Springs, CA.
This painting is rather small, 6.75” X 7”, but it makes a big statement wherever it hangs. Signed verso and executed in 1999 plus hand stretched by the artist himself. It is unframed, however the sides are painted out and it can simply hang from a nail.
