Traditionally flatwoven and dyed in shades of red, blue, and ivory. Bokhara rugs are a traditional type of rug with a distinctive pattern and origins that originate in present-day Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The patterns on these rugs are inspired by the textiles of Turkmen tribes, particularly the Tekke. Bokhara rugs have a very distinctive pattern, typically consisting of repeating geometric motifs, most often oval or rhomboidal Gul shapes.
