An intense image of Christ's face as "Salvator Mundi," immortalized in a frontal pose, his gaze fixed directly on the viewer, by a Flemish master active between the 16th and 17th centuries.

The expression is solemn and conveys a clear protective, reassuring message, accentuated by the hieratic sense of the face, sublimated by the artist through the use of a forcedly static pose and a frontal focus that follows an almost geometric rigor.

It is the most iconic Christian representation, popularized by the great Northern European masters of the 15th and 16th centuries, such as Gerard David, Hans Memling, Gerard David, and Dirk Bouts.
