Cohen 1866 Weimer, depicts a splendid Alpine landscape, full of figures, bowling players, and various perspectives.
The figures in the foreground, playing a game of bowls, mingle with other figures engaged in everyday activities. All this is immersed in a mountain landscape with glimpses of villages perched on hills, pleasant and warm homes, and fountains that remind us of the heart of a village. The clear sky, with its various shades of blue and white, contrasts with the deep, dark green of the vegetation.

Edvard Cohen (Hannover 1838 – Frankfurt am Main 1910), a landscape painter from Hanover, studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Vienna and Dresden.
This antique mountain landscape is presented in an elaborate French gilded pastiglia frame; it is in excellent condition, lined, and comes from a private residence in Lombardy.
