This is a beautiful mid century swag light with a long enough chain that you can hang it just about anywhere you would like. I show it with a single J-hook but most people would have a 2nd J-hook in the ceiling and use the 2nd J-hook to drop the chain/electric cord down right next to a wall, with the electric socket just below -- or perhaps to drop it down behind a curtain, etc.
The globe is in a gorgeous swirl pattern, with 3 layers, each getting smaller from top to bottom. A most interesting thing about this lamp is the internal metal screen diffuser, which helps spread the light more evenly from the top of the lamp (where the socket is located) down throughout the whole globe. The fixture that holds the globe at the top and bottom are bronze or bronze color and in great condition.
The glass is clear, but with a bulb made to light in a different color it becomes whatever color you wish. I show photos of it with (1) a clear bulb; (2) a red glowing bulb; and (3) with an amber glowing bulb. You can see with the clear and red bulbs how the diffuser spreads the light throughout. This effect is not so apparent with the amber glowing bulb, but that is because I took that photo during broad daylight so the diffuser didn't help spread the light nearly as much.
The fixture itself measures 14" tall and about 8" wide at the widest part (i.e., near the top). The electric cord measures about 15 feet. The last photo shows the fixture along with all the chain and electric cord hanging off of it. If you look closely you will see that there is a roll-dial on/off switch. The switch is 2 feet before the electric plug. The switch looks nice and works as it should. The chain reaches most the length of the electric cord from the fixture to the roll-dial switch.
There are no cracks, chips, blemishes or etc. in the glass globe/shade. The cylindrical metal screen diffuser is in perfect or near perfect condition, with no rust or etc.
This gorgeous swag lamp offers a beautiful and perfect example of mid century lighting, and the metal screen diffuser opens up limitless possibilities for lighting colors.
