This Balzac's head dates from the 1960's and was made by Sculpture Club. It is cast in a heavy composition material with a dark bronze patina that appears black. The sculpture itself depicts Balzac in a semi-abstract almost grotesque look, with exaggerated features of thick lips, overhanging brow, deep set eyes and disheveled hair. The back is inscribed "A. Rodin" with the Sculpture Club "Sc ©" logo, and the bottom "A Pexis Rudier Fondeur Paris". It is mounted by a central metal rod to a square black wood base covered on the bottom with brown felt.

It stands almost 10" tall by 8" wide by 6.5" deep, and weighs almost 10 lbs.
