Large and impressive Guiseppe Macri sculpture of "Moses and the Ten Commandments" signed and copyrighted 1969.
This imposing Brutalist styled Mid-Century Modern sculpture depicts a hulking Moses holding the two tablets containing the Ten Commandments on his lap. It's made of a very heavy bronze finished foundry stone with gold highlights that show up on the inscriptions on the tablets. The back of the sculpture is inscribed "MACRI 1969" and a "Sc ©", which stands for Sculpture Club from the 1960's. The sculpture is mounted to a solid stone base covered by brown felt on the bottom.
It stands just over 11" tall by 8.5" wide by 5.5" deep, and weighs almost 10 lbs.
No Moses was ever presented in such a rounded abstract style as this. It is a wonder. Put this modernist Moses in your home, office or collection.
