A vibrant original mixed media drawing on cradled Aquabord™ by acclaimed Southwestern artist Amado Maurilio Peña Jr. (b. 1943), titled “Mujer Bonita” from his renowned Mestizo Series. Peña is celebrated for his bold, geometric style and powerful depictions of Native and Mestizo heritage.
Born in Laredo, Texas, Peña became part of the Chicano art movement in the 1970s. His Mestizo series celebrates his own Mexican and Yaqui heritage.
