A unique Early-Mid 20th Century maritime Folk Art traditional knot work. A wooden board with braided nautical rope knots made by a sailor on one of his many journeys. A work that kept one busy on the vast seas. These were intended as gifts to wives back home, or sold or bartered by the sailors aboard ship or at port. This is extra special as it includes a hanging rope.
On the back is a faint list, which we think are names of knot styles. And on the front you have "Emole Patrol" written on the board.
