The surface features a genuine hand-tooled brown leather top with gold embossing, offering both durability and a touch of classic luxury. The case is finished in beautifully matched myrtlewood veneers, with paneled trim that continues seamlessly around all sides—allowing the desk to stand proudly in the center of a room.
Storage is both practical and beautifully executed: solid oak drawers with dovetail joinery front and back, including a cleverly designed deep file drawer that appears as two smaller drawers. The original lost-wax cast solid brass hardware adds weight and authenticity, while the hand-rubbed finish enhances the depth and warmth of the wood.
Though substantial in presence, the desk is thoughtfully engineered to break down into three pieces, making it easier to move and reassemble when needed.

The leather writing surface shows gentle signs of use, adding character without detracting from beauty or function. There is a very small scratch in the leather top (pictures provided). The wood finish retains its warmth and depth, with only minor surface marks expected from a handcrafted piece of this age. The main scratches to the wood are under the main desk (again, pictures provided.) All drawers glide smoothly, and the brass hardware has developed a rich, natural patina that underscores its authenticity. less
