Exceptional Indo-Middle Eastern iron casket intricately decorated using the Koftgari technique—fine gold wires hammered into the iron surface. Adorned with delicate Arabic calligraphy, the box was originally intended for storing a Qur’an.
Originating from the Punjab region, likely Sialkot or Gujrat (in present-day Pakistan), dating to the second half of the 19th century.
