This is a large-scale painting. Rendered on a 36" x 60" canvas, the painting measures 41" x65" including frame. It is impressive. It is wonderful above a sofa--and commanding enough to take center stage on larger walls. The colors "pop."
Feel the tension in the dancer's bodies as they stretch upward--gowns floating around solidly drawn bodies. Feet are painted daintily in the expressionist manner---but firmly grounded on the stage. The figures have weight.
The dancers here are made to look and dance as one, as in many a pas d' quatre. They share the same costume and pose. But faces and expressions vary, hands are articulated at different angles and heights vary slightly--just as in a live performance.
