These statues are by the master saint-sculptor from the Netherlands, Gerard Linssen. In 1893, Gerard Linssen established a factory in Venlo, specializing in the production of polychrome plaster statues. This marked the beginning of a flourishing statue industry in the region, with Linssen becoming one of the most important makers of church statues in the country. As a purveyor to the Pope, he created numerous religious works of art. Although he died in 1921, his legacy lives on in the many beautiful statues he created.

These statues are made of sturdy plaster and hand-painted. A hole is located on the back for attaching the halo. The high quality of the work is clearly visible in the details of the face and hair. The statues are marked on the back, and one also includes a coat of arms. As is customary with antique saint-sculptures, the hands are detached for safe transport. In short: a very beautiful antique saint statue for the collector and enthusiast.
