About the Designer
Kaija Aarikka (1929–2014) was a pioneering Finnish designer celebrated for her innovative use of wood in both jewelry and objects. Founding Aarikka Oy in 1954, she created a playful, modernist design language that drew on Scandinavian minimalism while infusing it with a distinctly organic softness. Aarikka’s works are widely recognized for their rhythmic repetition of forms, often spheres and geometric shapes, crafted in wood. Today, her designs are considered icons of Finnish modernism, sought after by collectors worldwide.
A delightful addition to any Scandinavian design collection, this Aries “Passi” embodies the warmth and optimism at the heart of Aarikka’s work.
