The chairs date to the second half of the 20th century and are in very good condition. Chairs in the Empire-style with scooped back and carved curved top rails are uncommon and elegant; they could coordinate with a variety of styles--Empire, Directoire or even Louis XVI. The chairs are upholstered in a carmel-colored empire style fabric with a Napoleonic Bee motif. Although the upholstery is not new, it is in good condition. We have spiffed up the mahogany frames with a couple of coats of hard paste wax in the traditional French style. See less
