scandinavian tiger birch highboard circa 1870.
fine quality piece of swedish cabinet making, showcasing the use of a cut of birch to use the grain in a decorative manner.
rectangular top with moulded edge, canted front corners with applied carving. 2 drawers over a double door cupboard which still retain their embossed leather escutheons. cupboard interior of 3 fixed shelves which has been later painted. raised on shaped block feet.
minor restorations to woodwork, minor age splits to sides. fully restored in our workshop and re-polished by hand. rich golden colour.
