19th century French bronze sculpture "Perseus Freeing Andromeda" by Jean-Louis Grégoire (French, 1840-1890). Signed on base L Grgoire.
Subject matter is "Perseus and Andromeda" from Greek mythology. Romantic and elegant looking piece. Beautiful warm brown patina.
Gregoire exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1867 and became one of the first Associates of the Artistes Francais.
